Traditional telecommunications companies no longer dominate the mobile market. For many people, however, prepaid services guarantee that there will be no unexpected fees and they are becoming very popular, especially in many European and Asian countries.

Designed to benefit low-income seniors and others who cannot afford mobile communications, most lifeline programs allow users to pay only for what they use, beginning with a basic number of minutes. Additional minutes may be purchased if needed and the costs are generally quite low. These programs not only save money but also provide a sense of security for many people who may otherwise feel isolated.

Change is a key word in the mobile communications industry and that also applies to cellular lifeline billing practices. Staying abreast of new technical innovations not only requires the latest business cost management software but also often requires a close working relationship with cost management companies, such as VoIP billing. As the mobile communications world evolves, the need for cost control in all forms of usage becomes increasingly important.
